I have started to try a new tool Ubernote .
The main features:
- saving selected Web information (clips or bookmarks),
- type notes or send them by email to Ubernote,
- sharing with your friends (choose whether they edit or simply read)
- add notes to UberNote using your mobile phone.
The tool has a nice and easy to use interface.
Other nice feature – I use the tool using slow internet in the village. It is faster than Google Note or some other but slower than Evernote.
You can sort notes by different ways. You need carefully add tags to notes as there is no files and you can find and reuse your notes only by sorting and browsing, by searching, by selecting tags, by selecting marked important notes.
It would be useful if a few importance levels would be used.
A short info about tool developers.
UberNote is the work of a few Penn State University graduates who have been building software for the past 10 years across many industries.

A few days ago I have downloaded Internet Research Scout 2.23 and installed it on IE.
But I did not succeeded to install it as a Firefox extension – I try to find errors – maybe there are too much other applications and interact with errors.
A short snippet from the description of Internet Research Scout
Freeware handy tool designed for online research and easy way to save web pages from Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla browsers. Collect HTML snippets, generate bibliographies, edit snippets and export to CHM, PDF, HTML, RSS, MHT formats.
Internet Research Scout 2.23 can be used as electronic book solution. You can create electronic books using snippets captured from different web-sites and source.

It is rather difficult to find a relevant information on the Web if you do not know what keywords to use.
Earlier I have written a post about some terms concerning Web research tools, online research tools, Web clipping tools etc. Now I present a larger updated list:
Research in the Internet (internet research)
Note capturing and saving
Note taking application.

April 2008 and When we analyse Web research tools we see that different terms to name the cateogory of these tools are used.
A few days ago I have found a very interesting list of 10 Online Note taking Applications.
It means that a new term “Note taking application” is used.
Now I live in the village and have a very slow mobile internet. Therefore I have problems to analyse and evaluate all these tools.
If somebody will try to analyse thses tools and send your comment it wopuld be perfect.
The list includes such tools:
- Evernote ( I suppose that it is the best Web research tools now)
- Google Notes
- Zoho Notebook
I am using very successfuly Evernote since April 2008 and I have tried preliminary only Google Note and Notefish.

Japanese have developed an interesting Firefox extension Wired-Marker.
It is very useful for me as it operates using slow internet ( I use such in the village).
“Wired-Marker is a permanent (indelible) highlighter that you use on Web pages. The highlighter, which comes in various colors and styles, is a kind of electronic bookmark that serves as a guide when you revisit a Web page. The highlighted content is automatically recorded in a bookmark and saved. To use Wired-Marker, you simply drag and drop the selected sections into a bookmark folder. You can highlight not only text but also pictures, tables, and selected portions of the screen. You can even add notes to the highlighted items.”
Use as an “indelible highlighter” on Web pages
Use as an electronic bookmark
Use as a scrapbook folder
Use as a structural organization tool for information
Other useful functions (export, template creation, image capture, etc)
